Spring Collaborative Posters for the Classroom - Spring Bulletin Board Ideas for Counseling

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your classroom management toolkit, with activities that foster social-emotional learning (SEL) through community building. If you're looking for a creative, low-prep way to engage students while building a positive classroom community, then collaborative posters are the perfect match. These printable posters allow students to color individual pieces that come together to form a stunning classroom mural.

My students absolutely LOVED this activity! They loved the challenge of figuring out which piece they had. I love how it turned out!

Love love love this resource! Such a great message and my students enjoyed working together to complete it.

Why Use Collaborative Posters for SEL?

Collaborative posters are more than just a fluffy art project. They offer meaningful benefits that support student growth in key SEL areas:

Teamwork & Cooperation – Students work together to complete the poster, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and shared goals.

Mindfulness & Focus – Coloring is a calming activity that encourages mindfulness, helping students regulate their emotions and stay present.

Growth Mindset & Encouragement – Many designs include positive affirmations and growth mindset phrases, reminding students to embrace challenges with confidence.

Sense of Belonging – Every student contributes to the final masterpiece, fostering a sense of inclusion and pride. I can't tell you the number of reviews from teachers who have shared how their students beamed when showing off their piece of the mural.

Students LOVED these collaborative colouring ins! They look eggcellent in our classroom, thank you!

How to Assemble

1️⃣ Print & Distribute – Each student receives a section of the poster to color. There are 36 coloring pages in total.

2️⃣ Color & Reflect – Encourage students to practice mindfulness as they color, using this time for reflection or meaningful discussions.

3️⃣ Assemble the Pieces – Once completed, piece the sections together to reveal the full design.

4️⃣ Display with Pride – Showcase the collaborative artwork on a bulletin board, hallway display, or door decoration!

How to Incorporate into your Program

My class colored this for our reading buddies during testing. Both my students and the 4th graders loved it!
